Paarl has a fascinating architectural heritage, stunning scenery and an abundance of wine and fruit farms. The town is situated between the second largest granite rock in the world and the majestic Du Toits Kloof Mountains, often referred to as the pearl of the Berg River Valley. It is here where former president Nelson Mandela walked to freedom from the Victor Verster Prison, now known as the Drakenstein Prison.
