The Friendly N6 is an off-the-beaten track journey cutting directly from Bloemfontein in the Free StateProvince to the coastal gateway city of East London. This quiet but increasingly popular route passes through some of Eastern Cape's most beautiful countryside, from the steep, snowy slopes of Ben McDhui in North Eastern Cape to the grassy lowland of the coast.
The route, via Aliwal North, meanders through open rural landscapes dotted with cattle and sheep and small farming communities whose friendly disposition gives this route its name.
