The historic village of Chrissiesmeer is a true capsule where buildings, built 130 years ago from natural sandstone and quarried in the area, are still standing. This village is a haven for visitors to come and explore the lakelands, and ancient San cultures of the region. This small historic village lies in the centre of South Africa's Lake District. There are about 270 lakes and pans located within a 20km radius of the village.
